Here's some more coverage of the Bronco and the Bronco sport (which I have no interest in). I do think the Bronco is a great looking vehicle, I used to have a 73 myself. It looks to me like Ford is setting this up to be more along the lines of the Raptor than a rock crawler with all of the teaser videos showing it bombing down a trail at speed rather than slower, tighter trails. My guess is that most of the people that will drive one of these will not know the difference. I get what you're saying, in order to truly compete with the Jeep it should have been a solid axle and the enthusiasts will discredit it for that. I understand that most folks don't venture off pavement much, but this is sort of a halo product for Ford and they had an opportunity to create something that would be a hit for enthusiasts but they mailed it in instead. Lots of soccer moms are rolling around fine in Wranglers. Ford still has issues with death wobble in their solid axle Superdutys so why chance it on a new model driven by soccer moms?
